A;SDLFJA;SLKFJAS;LKFJ I AM FINALLY DONE WITH THIS. I have been working on this project for about a month now. It has been amazingly time (and soul) consuming, but absolutely worth it in the long run.

Anyway. This is my entry for #TheDigitalWar 's Plumage of Lies Event. Cristatusmon starts stealing away poor baby digimon eggs while spreading vile rumors about all the members of the Sol, Lune and Astra, and everybody's got to try and pull through to rescue them. But things are tougher than they appear, and with evolution unexpectedly cancelled, it seems the tamers will need to find other ways to complete the mission…

Armor Evolutions? Do want! I did a meme ages ago to show what my boy Crocutamon would turn into, but the chance to actually get to evolve him into one is too good to pass up. As for combat, since Emily and Crocutamon went up against Povegliamon in the last event, I figured I'd give them a minor break by sparing them a Cristatusmon encounter. It wasn't much of a break.

I've been wanting to try doing a Flash game event entry for months now, and this one seemed just perfect for starting out. It's been loads of fun to make. Now I hope you guys enjoy it too :)

Special thanks to :iconesjitu: for 'beta-testing' and giving me some good improvement suggestions :D

Hrm, that's curious. The text is code so it can't move forward without you pressing the left or right keys, so you can read it at your own pace. Were you holding the keys down maybe, or were they stuck?

Whoop, Whoop! Finally got myself the time to check this out before I left!
Safe to say, it works. I think my internet was being gay when I last looked. It's been going funny lately and sometimes never loads a page fully, or whatever. :C

Such a long story, though. Probably best that you didn't tell it through a comic or writing. So much more interesting this way. And I love the extra art for attacks, the effects are good on those! :3
Glad to hear your little guys made up in the end, too!
I think it's safe to say that this project as a success. Well done Karma. You always go that little bit further for this group. So many ideas! 8D

I'm glad it worked this time! But don't condemn your internet for its homosexual orientation, that isn't right. Poor thing probably has a hard enough time as it is :(

Yeaaah, even just writing out the script was close to 15 pages, so I figured it'd be better to tell this way instead of a comic because if I did it as a comic I wouldn't have a hand anymore ugh.

I guess I always go the mile for this group because it's my first! And also, it's easier to experiment with new ideas without having to draw tons of humanoids. Digimon are soooo much easier to sketch :XD:

Pfffffft. Silly Karma. xD

Lol, you could join Fawen in his no handedness. But the script being 15 pages. Wow. Thank goodness you had this option. and as you said, at least it wasn't all humans in it. x3

I'd still have an arm, just not a hand....o_o

But yeah, once I made the sprites it wasn't as bad. Though unsurprisingly, the two "cutscenes" with Emily in them took the longest.

Oh yeah. Well, it still counts a little, doesn't it? ^^;

The odd facial change to a base, doesn't sound too bad, no. Wait, the cut scene with Emily in it? All I remember is the Digivolution one, not one with Emily... Or am I missing something apparently very important? D:

I am referring to the imagery I threw in here and there :XD: Two had Emily in them--one when she was crouching with Crocutamon in her lap, and the one at the end when they are shaking hands.

Haha, I thought you meant animation. Was thinking I was missing something then. XD;;
There's no way they took longer to do than the actual animation, though. That's crazy if they did.

The actual animating itself was pretty quick for the evolution video. The part that took a while was creating all the parts for it :XD:

Fantastic work. The story was well-written with a plot that felt pretty reminiscent of a classic Digimon episode, with a nefarious force making our heroes second guess their friends and themselves. Emily and Crocutamon play off of each other very well, and I really like their range of expressions throughout the story. I think my favorite show of that, is the initial argument where the hesitation to share his opinion is very clear on Crocutamon's face, as well as the hurt one on Emily's face. When they split up as a result of their fight, I knew right away they'd be needing each other later on. Crocutamon getting stuck on his task due to a lack of thumbs made me giggle a little. But his confrontation with a higher-level mon and Emily putting herself into harm's way to prove a point really racked up the tension. When they finally reconcile and fought back together, it felt good, especially liked when Emily vouched for Crocutamon's not-a-mutt-ness. (hey, it's the little things that stick out more to me.)

The artwork is great too. I already commented on how expressive all the characters were, though it feels like I should add that I also liked the antagonists' subtly changing eyes. It gave those two birds a slight uneasy air about them. I also liked it when you moved the avatars around a bit to simulate combat and/or action. This kind of format can be pretty limited, so your decision to go with slight movements really livened it up. I have so many favorite moments related to this fact; like when Crocuta's sprite went up and down slightly to imply his futile attempts to pick up a nest of digieggs without hands. Or when Emily remembers she has the Digimental/Digiegg of Knowledge, and moves forwards as if shoving it into the bad guy's faces. The newly formed Boremon zipping from left to right of the screen in glee also ranks very high as well. The stand alone images for pivotal point were also well done, each doing a great job of serving a specific purpose. Whether it's to focus the camera onto an important item(the digieggs/digimental) or moment (Emily and Crocutamon apologizing to each other), or just illustrating major attack moves. All these different elements helped to keep to whole thing engaging and fun. Sweet Goddramon, that evo sequence was awesome.

Wow. I just. Wow. Totally wasn't expecting such a long comment, so I'm only just now getting over my shock of it to respond :XD:

But...thanks! Because you really commented on a lot of aspects of the project that I worked hard on individually, but are just kinda subtly there as a whole, so it's really great to see you bringing it down to basics again and acknowledging the parts of the whole. Like the expressions--that was at least a week's worth of work, making those sprites. But work that was worth it, since it added so much to the experience for you :)

And I totally know how the 'little things' in general are always the parts of any story or show or game that do it for you...'cause the same thing happens for me, too! Over-reaching plots are great, but the little details, the character interactions, the subtle things, those are the parts that make any story not just good, but great. And to hear I've made those little parts too, and that you enjoyed them...well, it makes my day :)

And I am super happy you enjoyed the evolution sequence because damn, it took forever. But so. Worth it. And fun to do X3 Honestly I wouldn't mind making more in the future!

Anyway, thanks :) And I'm soooo glad you enjoyed the project!

SO COOL! Uh, for some odd reason the background music liked to overlap the other music when I was going through it. It may have just been my comp acting up because I was having a hard time getting it to run so it could just be me.

Hrm, that's odd. The music is coded to stop before the next set of music starts, and I haven't had any other notes or complaints about it yet. It might just be your computer. I'm sorry, though, that's no fun way to play it :(

I'm like...so impressed right now...I don't even think I have the words to tell you how epic that was.
So I'll just let these two do the talking:

Rika: "Wow! That was amazing, Emily! Even if you have the crest of knowledge, I think you were really brave. I'm glad to have a friend like you~"
Delgamon: "You go Crocutamon! I-I mean...Boremon! You kicked some serious digital butt! You da MON!"

But anyway, this was amazing. Your effort shows and people seem to be loving it! >w<

Emily: Oh...really? *embarrassed blush* I...I don't think I was that brave...it was mostly just in the moment, you know...

I'd like to make more flash entries in the future, either as more solo attempts, or possibly collaborations (with others helping to write the story and donating most/all of the art resources while I assemble and code).

But yeah. Break first. It is much needed :XD:
